Excellent condition, very clean copy and the binding is firm, very small bump in the upper right corner of the front cover.

The marbled boards have some surface wear. Page edges darke…ned. Marbled endpapers have a little browning around the edges. Trace of a price in pencil to the reverse of the front free endpaper. Scattered spotting to the pages at the front and rear of the book. The first few pages have some chipping and tearing all around the edges. Small tears to the top corners of the pages in the first half of the book. Page 113 has a tear to the corner which has been neatly repaired to the surface of page 114. A few light spots and stains in places but the pages are generally unmarked. First printing of this collection.

A scarce compilation of two earlier titles originally issued by the architectural specialist publishing firm of J. T…aylor and here reissued by Taylor's successor, John Weale. The first 31 plates are from of Edmund Aikin's Designs for Villas and other Rural buildings, 1808; plates 32-55 are of C. A. Busby's Series of Designs for Villas and Country Houses, 1808; and plates 56-67 (woodcuts) are original and previously unpublished, they are more recent designs for houses in Italianate or Gothic styles in Harwich, Brighton and London.
