Hardcover. Condition: Good. Undated, c1840. Original red cloth, elaborately lettered and blocked in gilt; all edges gilt. Rebacked with half of original backstrip relaid, endpapers replaced. Frontispiece and title page heavily browned, other plates (with tissue guards) browned on margins, good. Both titles appeared independently… in 1830, and were issued together (the link being Cruikshank's illustrations) in 1840. George Cruikshank (illustrator). Book.

Firm and square, strong joints, just rubbed and moderately worn. Contents toned and browned, an old now faded stain to a few pages in volume 2, and a former… owner name at the endpapers, nonetheless very good indeed. Not from a library so no such stamps or labels. Size: 8vo (220mm x 140mm). Collation: pp. [2], xxi, [1], 506; [2], 512; engraved vignette title pages, complete with 22 engraved plates drawn and engraved by Henry A. Ogg. Thus a very good set of books.
