This is a remarkable set of linked essays on the African American male experience. From these he builds a theory of Black masculine identity using auto-ethnography and ideas of performance as his base.

Photograph
Two vintage black-and-white still photographs from the 1953 UK release of the 1952 French film. Mimeograph snipes affixed to the verso of 1 still, and distributor rubber-stamp on the verso of the other. Based on Sartre's 1946 play, "La putain respectueuse," about the murder of a black man on a train. The only witnesses are an American prostitute and a black man. The suspect tries to seduce the prostitute to make her give false testimony that the black man attempted to rape her. She finally gives in to the suspects demands, but the black man, after nearly being lynched, flees to safety in her home. 8 x 10 inches. Light creasing overall, else Near Fine.
