Lightly rubbed and marked, with chipping to head of spine. A presentation copy, with the inscription 'To Miss Reutland, with the best wishes of H. Allingham', dated 1st September 1915 to FFEP; later gift inscription from Irish author Aodh du Blacom, dated 20.XI.47 to foot of the same. Endpapers browned, light scattered spotting. A presentation copy of this collection of correspondence between various eminent Victorian literary figures - among them Robert Browning, George Eliot and Leigh Hunt -and Irish poet William Allingham (1824-1889), edited by his wife, British water-colourist Helen Allingham (1848 â" 1926).
