First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Large 4to, ix, [1], 197pp. 24 plates, 25 with frontispiece. Original green cloth lettered in gilt to the front board and spine. Top edge gilt. Corners bumped, with light wear to the cloth at the spine ends, and a heavier bump to the spine head. Hinges are a little strained from the heavy text-block. The plates section at the end is weak and one plate is detached, a couple others want to detach themselves from the tabs but are still in place. The book is clean throughout, only a few leaves of text wrinkled lightly at the end and to the margins only, really not bad. Overall a good clean copy. From the library of Harry G. Lumsfeld, biologist and research scientist with Ontario's Ministry of Natural Resources. In 2004 Harry Lumsfeld became a Member of the Order of Canada for his outstanding contribution to wildlife management and conservation.
