[48] pages with 12 sentimental, nostalgic color-plate illustrations, title vignette, and 11 illustrations in the text. Decorative cream binding with gold embossing on the front cover, bound with a pale blue silk drawstring. Condition: Good, with age-toning and minor signs of storage/handling to the outside. No marks or writing to the book.

Orig.-Radierung, im Druck unten links singn., 1916 : Weiblicher Akt in freier Natur an einem bewaldeten Bachlauf kniend, die linke Hand zu einem Ast ausgestreckt, auf dem ein Paradiesvogel sitzt. Ein weiterer Vogel reckt im Flug seinen Schnabel zum ersten Vogel. - Motiv: 13 x 8,6 auf leicht gebräuntem Blatt 19 x 14 cm. * E. Amadeus-Dier, 1893 in Wien geboren und an der dortigen Akademie der bildenden Künste ausgebildet, war Mitglied des Wiener Künstlerhauses und zählt zu den Traditionalisten. Seine stilistischen Vorbilder sind das Barock und der Biedermeier. Mit der Moderne konnte er sich weniger anfreunden, obwohl in seinen Exlibris immer wieder surreale Motive auftauchen. Markant bei seinen Exlibris ist sein Hang zu Phantasievögeln, barocken Kartuschen im Stil von Bayros und reicher Ornamentik, die vom Jugendstil bzw. den Wiener Werkstätten geprägt sind. In der NS-Zeit war Dier "Mitglied der Reichskammer der bildenden Künste. Für diese Zeit ist bis 1935 seine Teilnahme an 13 Gruppenausstellungen sicher belegt, darunter von 1937 bis 1943 die Großen Deutschen Kunstausstellungen in München mit 20 Werken". Selbst Hitler erwarb von ihm zahlreiche Akt-Zeichnungen. Der Künstler starb 1969 in Klosterneuburg. - Vgl. Gutenberg, 200. - Sehr gut erhalten !
