Hardcover quarter bound in pictorial boards backed with black cloth. 76 pages, illustrated with eight woodcut plates in color - reproductions of old prints which were made with wood blocks cut from the origin…als and imported from Japan. No dust jacket. Condition: Fair. Our copy is ex-art museum library; prior ownership marks to front end-paper and half-title page. A couple of institutional stamps to front matter. The spine title label is missing its lower half. Rear paste-down end-paper has some damp rippling along gutter. Outer surfaces have age toning, an abrasion, corner rubbing, and soiling. Unfortunately, this copy may best be described as a "breaker," but all content is intact. Laid in at rear of book are two small, loose color prints (Hokusai and Hiroshige) which are most likely re-strikes, tipped onto tan kraft paper. This copy was acquired from a print collector; provenance can be supplied upon request.
