Nur die anatomische Richtung entbehrt bis heute noch einer intensiven systematischen Durchforschung der pathologischen Anatomie der Selbstmörder. Die Lösung des Selbstmordproblems liegt in der Detailforschung, wie solche bisher fast nur auf statistischem Gebiet bestand, auf psychiatrischem von Stelzner und Gaupp und auf anatomischem Gebiet von Heller begonnen wurde. Die vorliegenden Untersuchungen stellen den Versuch einer Detailforschung auf anatomischem Gebiete dar und erbringen zugleich den Beweis, daß auch auf diesem scheinbar wenig Erfolg verheißenden Weg immer noch neue Tatsachen entdeckt und für bereits bekannte aber rätselhafte Erscheinungen Erklärungen gefunden werden können ."
