Armed with rifles and a shotgun, the author and his party criss crossed East Africa with 40 porters carrying the supplies to hunt and collect ivory. They faced several obstacles especially when dealing with hostile tribes and unreliable chieftains. None the less, they manage to hunt Hippo, Elephant, Rhinos, Lion, Giraffe, Buffalo and other game. Fascinating descriptions about traveling that part of Africa over a hundred years ago. Decorated blue cloth featuring a Kikuyu warrior holding a spear and a shield in gold.
