Soft cover. Condition: Fair/Good. 1st Edition. A rare, highly elusive 1970 true first edition of the regional memoir Scenes From an Edwardian Childhood by the noted twentieth-century Sussex poet and playwright Vera I. Arlett, privately or natively published in a scarce 39-page staple-bound booklet format. This nostalgic, ephemeral slice of social history is uniquely enhanced by a genuine, clean, and un-inscribed flat author signature by Vera I. Arlett penned directly onto the front preliminary page stock. Offered in overall Fair to Good condition, the original illustrated paper covers show standard uniform surface rubbing, light edge wear, and light age-toning consistent with its age, with the primary structural blemish being that the entire booklet was historically folded in half, leaving a visible, permanent horizontal crease mark through the center of the covers, also some mild creases. Internally, the twin metal staples remain firm, tight, and completely free from rust or loose leaves, with the clean, bright pages entirely free from modern textbook highlighting, child doodles, or library stamps. A highly complete, scarce autographed specimen of mid-century British biographical ephemera, priced realistically to reflect its physical condition and ensure a swift sale. Dispatched from the UK same or next working day. Signed by Author(s).
