Condition: Fair. 1934. Cheap Edition. 244 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth boards with lettering. Contains black and white illustrations. Pages and binding are presentable with common faults. Text is legible throughout. Some issues present such as cracking, inscriptions, inserts, moderate foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Binding remains firm. Boards have noticeable shelf wear with rubbing and corner bumping. Moderate sunning and marking. Minor splits to spine ends and corners causing cloth to be frayed. Lettering is darkened.

Arthur Mailey (illustrator). Wraps are significantly rubbed and worn, staples are rusted centre pages have detached from to rest of the text. There is some spotting and wear throughout the text, two additional pages of Mailey's cartoons have been attached with stamp hinges between the adverts at the rear of the booklet We believe this is one of several softback cartoon booklets produced by Mailey on tour, this one appears to be especially rare. Would benefit from some professional resoration.

Index to "The Globe" Cricket Hints, printed on inside of front cover. Results of English Tour printed on inside of back cover with advertisement for 'Gradidge Bats' on the back.

Arthur Mailey (1886-1967) spanned a generation of Australian cricket, playing against Victor Trumper and Donald Bradman. He was a leg-break and googly bowler in 21 Test matches for Australia between 1921 and 1926. His famous return of 10 for 66 was for the 1921 Australians against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham. First Edition, 3rd imp. 8vo. 174pp. Illustrations throughout by the author. Dust-wrapper, lightly rubbed with mild stain to top. Good condition.

This copy has been subject of a professional restoration to the worn wraps which has now preserved them for the future. Foxing throughout which is heaviest on the first and last pages and quite light elsewhere. No other previous owner or other markings. Scans available if required.

An account of the 1932-33 Bodyline cricket series. First edition. Small 8vo. [viii] + 244pp. Original green cloth, lightly rubbed. Good condition. Signed by Larwood to a small piece of card which is neatly laid down to title-page.

Selection of illustrated humorous cricketing anecdotes compiled by Arthur Mailey, Australian leg-break and googly exponent of the 20's. Paperback. 1st edition 8vo. 20pp. including illustrated wraps. A little browned but clean and tight. Fractional shelfwear. Overall a very good copy.

Issued during the 1921 Australian tour. Mailey travelled around with the team, sketching skits and impressions of the different counties and cultures he experienced. Thus we have scenes from matches with Leicestershire, Yorkshire, United Services, MCC, Surrey, Oxford and Cambridge universities and the first two Test matches. Paperback. Small 4to. 32pp. of caricatures. Original pictorial wrappers, sl rubbed, but still a very good copy.
