Arthur Mailey (1886-1967) spanned a generation of Australian cricket, playing against Victor Trumper and Donald Bradman. He was a leg-break and googly bowler in 21 Test matches for Australia between 1921 and 1926. His famous return of 10 for 66 was for the 1921 Australians against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham. Selection of illustrated humorous cricketing anecdotes compiled by Arthur Mailey, Australian leg-break and googly exponent of the 20's. Paperback. 1st edition 8vo. 20pp. including illustrated wraps. A little browned but clean and tight. Fractional shelfwear. Overall a very good copy.

Issued during the 1921 Australian tour. Mailey travelled around with the team, sketching skits and impressions of the different counties and cultures he experienced. Thus we have scenes from matches with Leicestershire, Yorkshire, United Services, MCC, Surrey, Oxford and Cambridge universities and the first two Test matches. Small 4to. 32pp. of caricatures.
