Add to basketCloth. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. This copy has the 22 pp. of publisher's ads in back. Rebound with ribbed burgundy leather spine stamped in gold. Textblock is very tight. Pages are clean with the exception of the table of contents, with the chapter titles faintly underlined in blue ink (it appears partly er…ased). Front hinge has separation, but this may be from the rebinding. Rear hinge is partway cracked. Attractive navy cloth covers looking neat and smooth. Wtih minimal wear to edges, though all corner tips are rubbed, and lower front corner is rubbed to the boards leaving a couple of short fray threads. Ribbed leather spine binding nice and sharp with bright gilt. Leather has a few little chips. Benefits the Friends of the Albany, CA library.

No dustwrapper. "A romance set on the planet Mars, with a civilization a little advanced over Earth's with, for example, airships, the 'white fire' (a destructive hand-weapon) and the recently developed facility for sending a small metal globe to Earth, which contains a story for our edification. reasonably scarce book." -Locke A Spectrum of Fantasy, p. 110.
