Prima edizione (First Edition). . Questo volume è un doppio ritratto dei pittori Zoran Music e Ida Barbarigo dal primo incontro a Trieste, nella primavera del 1944, fino alla morte di Music nel 2005. Lui è slavo, nato ai margini dell'Impero Austroungarico in una cittadina il cui nome allude a una piccola collina, da una famiglia di vignaioli. Nel ‘44 ha più di trent'anni, è già stato a Venezia e conosce il pittore Guido Cadorin, padre di Ida (celeberrimi i pannelli nella stanza dei sonni puri al Vittoriale) dal quale è da subito affascinato. Lei, ventenne, dipinge da sempre ed è iscritta all'Accademia di Belle Arti. Discende dalla genealogia dei Cadorin, originari del Cadore e una delle botteghe di scultura più antiche della Serenissima. La mostra di Zoran a Trieste non la convince e anche fisicamente non è per nulla colpita da quell'uomo giovane, schivo, dagli occhi buoni. Ma le loro vite, di cui queste pagine raccontano i momenti principali, sono destinate a intrecciarsi per sempre: dal primo incontro a Trieste alla deportazione di Music a Dachau; dal suo ritorno a Venezia, stremato, alla frequentazione e poi al matrimonio con Ida nel '49; dai primi anni di vita matrimoniale a Venezia, città crocevia di numerosi artisti – Arturo Martini, Virgilio Guidi, de Chirico, De Pisis, Campigli – al soggiorno parigino; le amicizie, le frequentazioni, i rapporti con la Galerie de France: una vita consacrata al dipingere e narrata in questo libro attraverso un centinaio di fotografie inedite dell'epoca.
