*Sales/posting to the USA suspended*. Hard cover dust wrapper, 189pp, b&w illustrations by Adrian Young. A little wear to edges, light insect tracking on boards, a little foxing else good. Memoir of one Australian man's experience as a POW of the Germans during the Second World War. Barney Roberts was taken prisoner on 29 April 1941 at Megara on the Greek mainland. By cattle truck and forced march, he and his friends were taken to a labour camp in northern Yugoslavia where they suffered terrible conditions and treatment. Barney changed their luck by volunteering his group for a work party going to a farming community on the mountainous south-eastern border of Austria. Once there they immersed themselves in the routine of farm life and set about outwitting the local Nazis.
