Covers exhibit moderate wear, fraying and bumping to corners and spine ends. Wear with fraying on front cover hinge. Light wear and soiling on edges and back cover hinge. Heavy soiling to front cover. Light soiling and shelf wear to back cover. Writing and pieces of glued paper left on the inside front cover when something was torn off. Previous owners name on upper corner of the title page. Light soiling and moderate yellowing to page ends. Foxing and yellowing to the full page frontis illustration. Inside hinges are cracked but still firmly attached. Yellowing to text which is otherwise clean and unmarked. Chapters detailing Quaternary Mammalia, Cave Men, The Ancient Lake- Habitations of Switzerland, The Antiquity of Man, with three chapters on Modern Savages.
