Edizione originale di questo saggio pubblicato anonimo ma attribuito da Benedetto Croce all'abate modenese Bartolomeo Nardini (in "Quaderni della Critica", 1948), testimone oculare dei fatti della Rivoluzione Partenopea del 1799. Peraltro "I Memoires diÂBartolomeo Nardini, scritti e pubblicati aÂParigiÂnel 1803, hanno una notevole risonanza e contribuiscono forse piu' di qualsiasi altro testo a diffondere e a radicare i pregiudizi piu'Ânegativi sugli abitanti delle Calabrie.
