Sein Grundlagenwerk wurde 2001 erstmals auf Englisch (The Dream of Water) und Türkisch veröffentlicht. Für die vorliegende zweisprachige Ausgabe ist es gründlich und tiefgreifend bearbeitet worden, wobei die dem Buch eigene "Hikmet-Sprache" erhalten blieb. Viele neue Abbildungen wurden eingefügt, darunter auch mehrere von Barutçugils eigenem Beitrag zur Ebrukunst, dem Barut Ebru. Barut Ebru wird im technischen Teil des Buches nicht behandelt, weil es keine traditionelle türkische Technik ist. Die Abbildungen demonstrieren aber sehr gut die immensen Möglichkeiten der Marmorierkunst. Inhalt: Entwicklung der Ebrukunst, Pinselfertigung, Gewinnung von Erd- und Mineralfarben, ausführliche und reich bebilderte Anleitungen zur Fertigung der traditionellen Ebrumuster.

First blank bears the artist's inscription and signature (signing in full), and laid in is a 6x4 inch color photograph (from the negative) showing the artist & his diagram demonstrating the creation of the signature "tulip" which he likes to insert into general background marblings. A very good to fine copy, perfectly sound, clean and unmarked.
