A first impression of the true first edition of this anthology of short stories by leading writers of the 1930s. The book was published as No. 75 in Jonathan Cape's 'Florin Books' series, published at two shillings (2/-) or a Florin. ***Near fine in textured oatmeal cloth-covered boards with brown titles to the spine and front board. The boards are clean and unmarked. No creases or bumps. Corners sharp. Very slight reading lean to the binding, but no reading creases to the spine. Page block edges clean. Internally also near fine with no inscriptions. The paper used is quite thin, but there is virtually no creasing. Pages clean. The dustwrapper is complete, with just some light edge wear at the top edge.
