(1859-1919) was a writer and politician (also known under the pseudonym Belorussova) who specialised on agriculture and the economy.? In his youth, he joined revolutionary circles, expressing views that were a mixture of populist and semi-Marxist ideas. In the early 1900s, he left the exile for France and lived in Paris. He was a Parisian correspondent for the St. Petersburg cadet newspaper Russkiye Vedomosti. Returning to Russia, he proved himself a resolute enemy of the February Revolution and was a member of the bureau of the bourgeois-landlord Council of Public Figures. In 1918, as a representative of the underground Moscow Center, he left for the Don, where he was a member of the Council under General Kornilov; then went to Kolchak. In Siberia, he published the newspaper 'Domestic Vedomosti' and was the chairman of the commission created by the Kolchak government for elections to the Constituent Assembly.
