Spine mildly sun-faded; boards with rubbing, corner wear, and light soiling. CONTENT: This Limited Edition, privately printed for the Sylvan Press, is the authorized edition of the original 1929 Fleurs Du Mal published by the Sophistocles Press. A satirical satire on the then home secretary Sir William Joynson-Hicks, a Conservative moral crusader of the time. The book was a follow up to 'The Sink of Solitude', satirising the Sunday Express' moral outrage at the publication of the Well of Loneliness. Contains seven black & white plates by Beresford Egan with accompanying verse and a lampoon after the plates. The staple-bound card covers are soiled worn and split with loss to the spine. Small loss to front cover. Internally clean. 4to, 180g.
