Mai 1726 in Dresden) war ein protestantischer Prediger der Dresdner Kreuzkirche. Seine Ermordung durch einen Katholiken wurde zu einem publizistischen Großereignis in Sachsen und führte im Mai 1726 zu einem Bürgeraufstand in der Residenzstadt Dresden. Katholische Verteidigungs- und Rechtfertigungsschrift dieser Mordtat des Eiferers und erzkatholischen Prager Professors Jan Tomá Vojtech Berghauer. Berghauer begeisterte sich für das Werk der französischen Bollandisten. Er trieb Urkundenstudien, um die Überlieferung des Heilgen Johannes von Nepomuk quellenmäßig zu fundieren, der für das Beichtgeheimnis zum Märtyrer geworden war, die nach Böhmen eingeschleppten lutherischen Bibeln bekämpfte Berghauer als Teufelszeug. Zugleich forderte er aber eine tiefschürfende, bibelhermeneutsche Erneuerung der katholischen Gelehrsamkeit gegen die »peripateticum nugae« und »Aristotelicae tenebrae«.
