Was sie jedoch verbindet, ist die Faszination für Farbe und Licht. Gertsch verarbeitet Schnappschüsse von jungen Menschen in alltäglichen Situationen etwa beim Schlendern durch die Strassen zu komplexen Hinterglasmalereien. Ach beschäftigt sich in seinen Gemälden mit den Phänomenen, die entstehen, wenn Licht auf unterschiedliche Materialien trifft.
