Toroni, Magda; Cantafora, Arduino; Barruol, Guy; Issiakhem, Younes (illustrator). Fernand Pouillon (1912-1986) est l'un des architectes les plus prolifiques et les plus singuliers du XXe siècle. En France et en Algérie, il a occupé le devant de la scène entre 1953 et 1984. La réception de son oeuvre culmine en 1982 à la IIe Biennale d'architecture de Venise. Diverses publications monographiques lui sont consacrées entre 1986 et 2015, mais à ce jour, le véritable catalogue de l'oeuvre reste à établir. Le présent ouvrage se propose d'en situer des éléments choisis, certains inédits, sous l'éclairage d'événements historiques - la fin de l'empire colonial français, la crise de la modernité en architecture et les aléas du tourisme dans les pays nouvellement indépendants - et dans une période marquée par l'attention aux caractères bioclimatiques des constructions.
