Steven Jesse Bernstein was a notable figure at poetry venues in Seattle in the 1980's and often appeared with bands playing at the time in shows about town. He was known for his grating style and antics such as waving a pistol at the audience. He wrote t…he poem "More Noise Please" and recorded on Sub-Pop records, opening for bands such as Big Black, Soundgarden, U-Men and Nirvana. He took his life in 1991 and will be fondly remembered. Bernstein 3/19/79. This is the First Issue of Outlaw Press, nos. 2 & 3 will also feature Bernstein. 7 x 8.5 in. 24pp., in tan illustrated wraps, featuring cover photo of Bernstein by Jeff Stookey, and self portrait drawing by Benstein on the back. Both are hand colored in red (the eyes and mouth). Light wear, else about Near Fine.
