First Edition. with VII + 301pp, contemporary calf, a bit rubbed and a little foxed, hinges cracked but firm, but in very good acceptable condition, hardcover, blank endpapers annotated, PRINTED BY MARY WILSON, WOLVERHAMPTON, CIRCA 1757. *Beveridge was perhaps best noted, other than for his writings on theology, by his opposition to the Act of Union between England and Scotland. The printer of this Book of Sermons was probably the widow of the printer George Wilson and according to Mander's in his 'Early Wolverhampton Books and Printers' she had a large output , particularly of 'chap Book Type' books. A fine example of early Wolverhapton printing with most pleasing typography. Power gives the fist date of printing in Wolverhampton as 1724. A SPLENDID EXAMPLE OF PROVINCIAL PRINTING.
