La presente edizione ''è fatta con molto decoro e data fuori dal padre Alessandro del Poggio, col testo latino a fronte, Gli Argomenti in ottava rima sono di Donato Ant. Leonardi.''. Fu assai stimata dal Redi e il Gravina la ritenne  superiore a tutte per la piacevolezza dell'armonia (Gamba, Testi di lingua).  Buon esemplare (nota di possesso d'epoca di "Gaetano Fiorini" al contropiatto. Discendente da famiglia lunigianese, il padre Beverini (Lucca, 1629-1686) fu membro della Congregazione dei Chierici Regolari della Madre di Dio. Grande conoscitore delle lingue classiche, insegnò teologia e retorica ed eloquenza a Lucca e a Roma. Fu fecondo compositore di rime religiose e liriche, e a lui si deve il celebre volgarizzamento in ottava rima dell'Eneide. 50 gr.

In 16°; cart. coeva con tit. oro su tassello al dorso; pp. (2)-95-(1); nella nota del traduttore in fine si dice che la pubblicazione consiste nella "Strenna parmigiana" per l'anno 1843. Fioriture alle prime e ultime carte in esemplare molto ben conservato.
