Add to basketCondition: Good. viii, pp 248. First world war Gallipoli memoir inscribed by its author - or perhaps its ghost writer - as the title pages describes the work 'As Told to W J Blackledge by Digger Craven.' Blackledge has written on the title page: 'To Jack Wardle, With every good wish, W J Blackledge. January, 1937.' Bound in publisher's black cloth, unevenly faded; a few dog ears to early leaves making this a good copy only of an uncommon book to find signed. Born into poverty in Bolton, Blackledge wrote a number of pseudo-memoirs and war-related fiction during the inter-war period including this account of the involvement of ANZAC forces in the doomed Gallipoli landings.
