El analisis geoqrafico del campo andaluz y de sus protaqonistas de cada dia es, sin duda, un camino poco explorado, pero fecundo, en todo el conjunto de la bibliografia cada vez mas frecuente sobre nuestra region. "Andalucia: estudios de Geografia Agraria" es el fruto de casi treinta anos de investigacion cientifica y presencia vital, pero ademas -y sobre todo- una parte de la preocupacion por Andalucia de un grupo de universitarios constituido en torno al Departarnento de Geografia de la Universidad de Granada y del cual el autor de esta obra, Joaquin Bosque Maurel, fue rniembro y director. La consideracion de conjunto del campo andaluz, mediante el analisis de la situaci6n geografica, el medio fisico, los modos de dominio del suelo y los sistemas de cultivo, es uno de los objetivos de estos estudios. A su lado, y desde una optica mas concreta, no podia faltar et ptanteamiento de los contrastes regionales, irnprescindible en una region tan distinta y matizada como Andalucia.
