El «trabajo de figurabilidad» del analista, que es su «primera tarea» y cuyo efecto propio es homologable al de la pesadilla, crea-encuentra una figura, una representación adecuada capaz de hacer inteligible al analizante lo que, marcado por una «memoria sin recuerdo», era pura manifestación traumática, con la angustia resultante.
