In brown tones on shiny photographic paper, postcard format, dimensions 140 x 85 cm. In very good condition. Warner is shown pulling a strange face, with his hand on his chin, wearing a straw boater. The signature, written diagonally across his hand, reads 'Jack Warner'. Warner first appeared in the part of P.C. George Dixon in the film 'The Blue Lamp' (1949), later reprising the role in the television series 'Dixon of Dock Green'.

One page. Dimensions of card roughly three and a half inches by four and a half. Right-hand side and bottom edge of card cropped. 'Autograph of' printed at head, and beneath this 'To Albert Millwa | With very best wi | Murray Kash'. The right-hand edges of the letter 'K' in Kash's name extend rightwards over the rest of the word, and may be very slightly cropped. Upper four lines of biographical cutting laid down at foot. Fragment of printed letter from Millward (and signed by him) requesting the autograph, beneath remains of plastic film on reverse.

He is pleased that her 'footsteps are treading in high places', and hopes that this 'leads to as much golden reward as it seems to suggest'. He will see her friend 'Mr. Kennerley', but he cannot be 'encouraging' as he is not at present 'casting any picture', and will not be doing so for 'a month or so'. His 'activities now never seem to bring [him] to Hampstead', he hopes she will see him when she visits his 'neighbourhood'.

See his entry in the Oxford DNB. 8.5 x 13.5 cm publicity photograph on postcard, printed in sepia. In good condition, with tiny dink at top left. Captioned at foot 'MR. IVOR NOVELLO'. Prim-looking with side-parting in white shirt, tie, and dark double breasted suit, the darkness of which makes the signature 'Ivor Novello' rather difficult to make out. Scan on application.

1p., 12mo. In fair condition, on aged paper, but with loss at foot and traces of mount on reverse. The letter is addressed to 'Mrs Ashurst Morris | Victoria Hotel | ' (the last word damaged at the foot of the page). It reads: 'Dear Madam, | Thanks for your letter. Pardon my delay in answering, but our plans have been a little uncertain. We shall not be staying in London after the date mentioned, otherwise, we should have been very glad to continue our present sojourn at your comfortable flat. We find it most convenient & pleasant and the servants admirable | Thank you for the consideration and courtesy you have shown us.'.

Signed 'Mollie and Donovan Maule. / (Mollie Shiells)', but the husband is clearly the author. 1p, 4to. Folded twice for postage. He thanks him for his 'inspiring book' on the Haymarket Theatre. 'My wife and I (both ex-Haymarket artists) feel inseminated ith fresh optimism and jope while battling with the municipal authorities and Kenya Government to establish the first professional theatre ever known here. To read of the early struggles and ultimate triumphs of many of The Little Theatre in the Hay's determined pioneers - people like the two Colmans, Webster, and Buckstone - has lifted our hearts and spurred us to fresh endeavour. A copy of this book shall be our daughter Annabel's Christmas-present this year.' He asks him to make a reference to the play 'Havoc' in future editions ('& it deserves to run into several'): 'I noticed its unintentional omission particularly because it was in that play that I made my first appearance at the Haymarket, where incidentally my wife beat me to it with "The Blue Bird" in 1910.' He ends with renewed thanks for 'a fine book'. TWO: MP to DM. 1p, 4to. Although the book has 'received a magnificent press it has done the least well of all my books, which I attribute to the fact that people today, if slightly interested in the Theatre as a whole have little interest in individual theatres - unless it is Drury Lane, for my history of that is a best seller.
