Later, he dominated hillclimbing racing, earning the nickname 'King of the Mountains'. Contains a frontispiece, and twenty-four plates to the center of the book, including different cars, scenes from races, and racing drivers.A very popular work and one of the first on the sport written by a racing driver, including insights on the challenges and skills involved with the sport as well as personal observations and stories, with a foreword by the record-breaking Sir Malcolm Campbell.Despite his success in Grand Prix, Stuck is best known for being the 'Bergkönig' due to his proficiency in hillclimbing. In the publisher's original cloth, in the original scarce dust wrapper. Externally, smart, with minimal marks. Small fading patches to the head of spine and tail of rear joint, with small knocks to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. Dust wrapper is generally bright and clean, with slight browning to the rear wrapper. Signs of edgewear, with creasing and small chips to the head and tail of wrapper spine, and to extremities, heaviest to bottom edge near tail of front wrapper joint. End papers are generally bright and clean, with slight offsetting to rear free end paper hinge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are mostly bright and clean with minor age toning and faint spotting to the title leaf, and top edge of pp.97-99. Very Good. Various (illustrator). book.
