El título de la primera edición en 1933, Andalucía, su comunismo y su cante jondo, que se conservó al reeditarse en 1988 por la Universidad de Cádiz, entrañaba un equívoco desafortunado. Al leer el texto queda claro que los autores se refieren de manera expresa al comunismo libertario. P…ero el tema que vertebra este ensayo es el cante jondo como rasgo distintivo de la cultura andaluza, tan pródiga en manifestaciones artísticas. Carlos aportó al texto los saberes musicales del guitarrista que ya era, y Pedro lo enriqueció con sus meditadas lecturas de filósofo en cierne. Entre los dos hermanos consiguieron una prosa fresca y brillante al servicio de una gran precisión conceptual. Fue el único libro en que compartieron autoría. Carlos Caba Landa (1899-1976) colaboró en periódicos gallegos, publicó cuatro novelas y, al morir, dejó varios originales inéditos. Y Pedro Caba Landa (1900-1992) compuso una amplia obra literaria y filosófica de más de veinte títulos que abarca ensayo, novela, poesía y teatro. El prólogo y el epílogo de esta edición se deben a Rubén Caba, autor de novelas, cuentos, libros de viajes y ensayos. En el prólogo bosqueja las semblanzas de su tío y de su padre; y en el epílogo comenta La copla andaluza, ensayo de Rafael Cansinos Assens en el que, desde el capítulo VIII hasta el final, glosó el libro de Carlos y Pedro Caba Landa sin escatimarles elogios. *** Nota: Los envíos a España peninsular, Baleares y Canarias se realizan a través de mensajería urgente.
