This book, a historic text penned in 1805, offers a study of various diseases, their underlying inflammatory triggers, and a novel approach to treatment known as Broussaisâ Doctrine. The author refutes theories of the time, which misdiagnosed many fevers as essential or epidemic. Instead, he argues that upon careful examination, fever is a symptom of an inflammatory condition, and through copious case studies, demonstrates that bloodletting near inflammation sites can quell fever and hasten healing. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

First Edition
