Former owner's signature (Arthur C. Bradley born in Brattleboro, VT 1849, and died in Newport, NH, 1911) and and bookseller's blind stamp, in the shape of a book, otherwise unmarked. Pages still bright with some discoloration/foxing/soiling. Title page with frontispiece and tissue guard, 6 more plates with tissue guards, lacking one plate (the tissue guard remains bound in). One signature displaced about 1/8 inch but still firmly bound. 364 pages, 6 plates plus frontispiece, lacking the eight illustrated plate; back of volume contains a list of books by this publisher including several by Captain Reid, most are full page with some bibliographic details.
