A New Army division, formed in September 1914, it went to France in July 1915 and fought on the Western Front throughout the war, suffering 35,470 casualties and winning six VCs. Distinguished action at Guillemont 1916, Langemark 1917 and Cambrai 1918. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Book.

With numerous illustrations, and a Frontispiece of Major-General W. Douglas Smith. In a blue cloth binding. Externally, a trifle rubbed. There is some evidence of previous damp staining. Spine is faded, and slightly cocked. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with some scattered light foxing. Good. book.

8vo., First Edition, with portrait frontispiece, 11 plates, 4 maps in the text and 4 large folding maps on japon at rear; original printed boards, fore-edge mildly spotted else a very good, bright, clean copy.
