Seiten etwas fingerfleckig und unfrisch. Zum Verfasser (1779-1844) siehe auch Kosch XX, 614f. - "Die kläglichen Romane Streckfuß freilich schlugen ganz aus der Art. Die Empfindsam- und Rührseligkeit gab sich hier hausbacken, platt, mit einem Stich ins Kotzebuesche. "Klementine Wallner" (1811), die drei Bände "Erzählungen" (1814; 2 Bände 1830), namentlich aber "Julie von Lindau, oder: Wille, Natur und Verhängniß" (1819) [recte 1810] beweisen die Geringfügigkeit seiner einschlägigen Gaben. Die Titelheldin des letzteren betrügt ihren sanften Gatten, ohne daß man weiß weshalb, und erlang, als sie auf der überhetzten reuevollen Rückkehr zu ihm ein Blutsturz überfällt, nebst ihrem ihr gefolgten Buhler sterbend des Edelmüthigen Verzeihung" (ADB XXXVI, 561).
