Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good Minus. 1st Edition. Stated First printing, 1953. This was the author's first novel. You can see the covers in the photos. They are in very nice condition. There isn't any conspicuous wear. The lettering on the spine is nicely bright. The spine is tanned uniformly. The cover edges are in excellent shape. So are the corners. No rubbing on either. The page edges are quite clean, one speck on the middle one. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in very nice condition as well. The inside covers and end papers are very clean, no wear. The pages are very clean. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any soiling. The top corner of four consecutive pages got folded in so each top corner of the four pages now has the same crease. The crease is not near the print. I'm not seeing any other creasing on the pages. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. I have always had it in a fitted protective cover. It looks quite clean. The spine is clearly sun tanned or toned. There is a thin loss at the top edge of the spine (not reaching the lettering) and just adjacent off the top edge of the rear. The flaps are in very good shape, no wear that I can see, one speck of a spot. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all.
