Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - This contemplative narrative interweaves philosophy and spirituality, exploring the nature of existence, perception, and love. Challenging notions of perfection and reality, it presents the universe as an eternal 'Now,' embracing Stoicism and the interconnectedness of all beings. Delving into the illusions of fear and the beauty of love, it portrays existence as a symphony where each choice reflects our core selves. Addressing themes of empathy, unity, evil, individual freedom, self-love, and acceptance, it ultimately heralds love as the essence of life and the key to a harmonious collective existence, where diversity is celebrated and every soul's journey is honored.

First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. Fair-. Deaccessioned from a Harvard University library, which overbound the three volumes together in quarter brown cloth, marbled boards, with a red morocco leather gilt-stamped spine label reading "Riley"; the handwritten spine label ("Report U.S. Entomologist 1886, 87, 88") is chipped and falling off; originally presented by the author presumably to entomologist Hermann August Hagen, the previous owner, according to the library's bookplate -- the first two volumes have tipped-in printed slips reading, "Compliments of Charles V. Riley, Entomologist," with the third volume having a stamp, "Compliments of C. V. Riley" (there is no inscription). Regrettably this volume has basically fallen apart, with the text block only attached to the hardcover binding at the back joint (front hinge is broken) and many pages being loose (but all present and accounted for) and the first volume separated from the second volume (the text block having split into two pieces); the original printed wrappers and the pages have wear; a few pages have minor soil. Paginated v, 459-592, 11 plates (1 color), ix p. -- vi, 48-179, 8 plates (2 color), vi p. -- iv, 53-144, 12 plates (4 color), iv p. The volume is housed in the library's unlabelled quarter maroon cloth cardboard enclosure. Interesting provenance. Size: 9 3/8 x 5 13/16 inches. [br 19].
