Humorous account of the doings of the men of the Navy and Marine Corps who served in the Solomons Islands from August to December, 1942, including camp life, combat, and so forth. "The most significant of the Allied Forces' operations against the Japanese Imperial Forces was launched on August 7, 1942, with simultaneous naval bombardments and amphibious landings on the Florida Islands at Tulagi[12] and Red Beach on Guadalcanal."
