A vacation in Europe becomes a quest as five women visit the landmarks where nine milion women were tortured and killed as witches. The action slips around in time, connectiing the modern travellers with the women of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Gradually the tourists are transformed into terrorists - with a twist. The play is a blend of wit, fact, fairy tale and chilling quotations from the Church's handbook for witch hunters. First published by Canadian Playwrights in 1985. First produced by Nightwood Theatre in Toronto in 1983.
