Four contact sheets with wax pencil annotations on the rectos. The images primarily consist of Checker and Lodders, at their home and work, as well as photographs of Checker working with young vocalists, likely taken for a magazine article. 23 year-old Checker and the 21 year-old Lodders, a Dutch model and Miss World 1962, married in 1964, three years before the US Supreme Court struck down laws banning interracial marriage. The couple had to travel out of Pennsylvania to New Jersey to marry, and realtors refused to sell the couple a home outside Philadelphia. They eventually found a home in Paoli, Pennsylvania, where they still live.
