August 1984 in Castelo, Bundesstaat Espírito Santo) ist ein ehemaliger brasilianischer Fußballspieler. Er spielte im offensiven Mittelfeld. Karriere Cícero begann seine Karriere in der Jugend des EC Bahia und spielte anschließend für den Figueirense FC, bevor er 2006 zum FC Tombense und von dort zu Fluminense Rio de Janeiro wechselte. Mit Figueirense gewann er 2006 die Meisterschaft des Bundesstaates Santa Catarina (Staatsmeisterschaft von Santa Catarina), mit Fluminense 2007 den brasilianischen Pokal (im Finale gegen Figueirense), womit sich die Mannschaft für die Copa Libertadores qualifizierte. Mit Fluminense zog Cícero bis ins Finale der Copa Libertadores 2008 ein. Er wurde in beiden Finalspielen eingesetzt. Im entscheidenden Elfmeterschießen, in dem Fluminense gegen LDU Quito unterlag, war er der einzige Spieler seiner Mannschaft, der einen Elfmeter verwandeln konnte. Im Juli 2008 wechselte er auf Leihbasis für zwei Jahre zu Hertha BSC, das ebenfalls eine Kaufoption erwarb. Von dieser Option machte Hertha aber keinen Gebrauch, sodass er für ein Jahr, erneut mit Kaufoption, an den VfL Wolfsburg weiterverliehen wurde. Somit folgte er seinem Berliner Mannschaftskollegen Arne Friedrich, der ebenfalls nach Wolfsburg gewechselt war.[1] Der Verein nutzte die im Vertrag enthaltene Kaufoption, die am 31. Mai 2011 abgelaufen war, nicht. Im Juli 2011 wurde Cícero an den FC São Paulo ausgeliehen, bei dem er einen Zweijahresvertrag unterschrieb. Im Jahr 2013 wurde er bis 2014 an den FC Santos weiterverliehen. Mitte 2017 nahm Fluminense Cícero wieder unter Vertrag. Er spielte für den Klub in der Série A. Im Jahr 2015 wurde er für wenige Monate an al-Gharafa nach Katar ausgeliehen. Bei Fluminense wurde er zur Stammkraft im Mittelfeld. Anfang 2017 lieh ihn der FC São Paulo aus. Dort verlor er nach zehn Einsätzen seinen Platz im Team und wurde nicht mehr berücksichtigt. Im Oktober 2017 verpflichtete ihn Grêmio Porto Alegre. Nach zwei Jahren und mit dem wichtigsten Sieg im südamerikanischen Fußball, der Copa Libertadores 2017, verließ Santos den Klub im Februar 2019. Roger Cicero war der Sohn des 1997 verstorbenen Jazzpianisten Eugen Cicero und der Tänzerin Lili Cziczeo.[2][3] Er wuchs in Berlin-Grunewald auf und besuchte dort zunächst die Grunewald-Grundschule, dann das Rathenau-Gymnasium.[4] Als Elfjähriger trat er im Vorprogramm von Helen Vita auf. Mit 16 hatte er mit dem RIAS-Tanzorchester unter Leitung von Horst Jankowski seinen ersten Fernsehauftritt. Im Alter von 18 Jahren wurde er am Hohner-Konservatorium in Trossingen aufgenommen und in den Fächern Klavier, Gitarre und Gesang ausgebildet. Von 1989 bis 1992 trat Roger Cicero mit dem Horst-Jankowski-Trio, dem Eugen-Cicero-Trio (Gruppe seines Vaters) sowie mit dem Bundesjugendjazzorchester unter Leitung von Peter Herbolzheimer auf. Von 1991 bis 1996 studierte er Jazzgesang an der Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Hilversum. In der Folgezeit wurde er Gastsänger bei den Gruppen Jazzkantine und Soulounge, mit denen er 2003 beim Montreux Jazz Festival teilnahm. 2003 gründete er das Roger-Cicero-Quartett. Danach trat er mit einer elfköpfigen Bigband auf. Stilistisch bediente er sich bei der Swingmusik der 1940er und 1950er Jahre und kombinierte sie mit deutschen Texten. 2006 war er am Album Good Morning Midnight der Jazz-Pianistin Julia Hülsmann beteiligt und mit Männersachen erschien im Mai 2006 sein erstes Soloalbum. Neben 13 Kompositionen, die überwiegend von seinen Produzenten Matthias Haß und Frank Ramond stammen, gab es auch eine Fremdkomposition. Schieß mich doch zum Mond war die deutsche Version des Frank-Sinatra-Klassikers Fly Me to the Moon. Die ausgekoppelte Single Zieh die Schuh aus, die auf ironische Weise den Geschlechterkampf behandelt, platzierte sich im Juli 2006 auf Rang 71 der deutschen Charts, das Album Männersachen im August desselben Jahres auf Platz 3. Bis Anfang 2009 verkaufte sich Männersachen über eine Million Mal.[5] Am 8. März 2007 gewann er bei der deutschen Vorentscheidung zum Eurovision Song Contest 2007 mit dem Song Frauen regier?n die Welt. März 2016 starb Cicero im Alter von 45 Jahren in Folge eines ischämischen Schlaganfalls (Hirninfarkt),[16][17][18][19] woran bereits sein Vater verstorben war. Er hatte über zehn Jahre in Hamburg-Winterhude gelebt[20] und wurde in seiner Wahlheimat auf dem Friedhof Ohlsdorf beigesetzt.
