Hardcover. Condition: Very Good -. No Jacket. Contains previous owner's small inscription describing the author and editor: "par de Freval, publier par Goulin." A brief biography of Claude-François Guillemeau de Fréval follows: b. 1745, d. 1770, an adviser to parliament and a member of the academies de Bordeaux, de la Rochelle, de Villefranche, and de Lyon. At age 20 he produced his Histoire des Discours de Ciceron, and was assisted by Goulin (presumably Jean Goulin) in editing the proofs and making the tables. Except for minor markings on the endleaves, there is no other writing in the book. The text is lightly foxed, but pages are crisp and tightly bound. Full leather covers are in poor condition, with chipped leather at edges and spine, and detached front board. A few sections of gilt tooling are still visible on spine backstrip. Book edges dyed red. The history about the author is neat because he died so young and we have very little information about him. Full refund if not satisfied.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. xii, 252p. Contemporary calf with a gilt spine and marbled end papers. Red fore-edge. FROM THE LIBRARY OF THE LAST PRIME MINISTER OF THE BOURBON DYNASTY, CHARLES AUGUSTE LE TONNELIER, BARON DE BRETEUIL (1730-1807) with his bookplate on the inside front board. Baron de Breteuil was appointed Prime Minister by King Louis XVI just one hundred hours before the storming of the Bastille. He had been a diplomat and appointed French ambassador to the elector of Cologne. Two years later in 1760 he was sent to St Petersburg as the French ambassador to Imperial Russia. In 1769 he was sent to Stockholm, Sweden, and later to Vienna in 1770, in 1773 to Naples and again back to Vienna where he remained until 1783. Cicero must have been an important source of information for the trained diplomat. Hinges cracked and worn along the edges. Headband chipped. Some wear to the boards otherwise internally clean. An historically important provenance in French history.

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. A misunderstood practitioner? Or simply a man aligned with a deeper reality?Far from sensationalism, this work offers a thoughtful exploration of a phenomenon that challenges the boundaries between science, spirituality, and human experience.More than a biography, this book invites the reader to question, observe, and perhaps rediscover what lies within.A compelling contribution to the history of spiritual healing and magnetism.
