Add to basketwoodcut ornament on title, a woodcut head and tailpiece, woodcut printer's device at colophon, paper flaw in C11, exacerbated by the printing process with the loss of a couple of short words and 3 or 4 letters, a little browned, and title spotted, pp. [vi], 134, [1, colphon], 33 blank], 12mo, later (?early 18th-century) marbled wrappers, blue edges (faded or darkened), slightly worn but good. This text was first published in Bergamo in 1587 in 4to, and gave rise to 'a fierce dispute over how to read Horace's Ars poetica'. Cologno was a native of Bergamo, and was professor of philosophy at Padua (where Harvey matriculated in early 1600). He died in 1602.
