Fine Asprey full leather binding (most likely executed by Sangorski and Sutcliffe or Zaehnsdorf), with gilt titles to the spine, a replica of the internal illustration of the Field Marshal in inlayed coloured leather, marbled end papers, all page edges gilt, gently tanned throughout, text block tight. Pagination: unpaginated with 24 colour illustrations as called for with 24 pages of text to accompany and paper guards. Provenance: no signatures or bookplates. Approximately 10 ½ inches (26.5cm) tall. Condition Report Externally Spine - very good condition - gilt titles to the spine, minor marks. Joints - very good condition - sound. Corners - very good condition - gently worn. Boards - very good condition - red morocco boards with inlayed leather decoration of the Field Marshal to the front board, gently rubbed, marked and worn. Page edges - good condition - all edges gilt. Binding - very good condition - attractive. See above and photos. Internally Hinges - very good condition - sound. Paste downs - very good condition - patterned. End papers - very good condition - patterned, tanned subsequently. Title - good condition - gently tanned, closed tear to the top of the page.
