White was a communication officer and one of the initial 100 officers on the ground in India to set up the airlift to supply Chinese troops and later US troops. The 'Hump' was flying a full loaded aircraft over the Himalayas. Eventually the operation grew in aircraft and manpower and was able to deliver 80,000 tons of supplies a month. There is a signed dedication opposite the preface. Very good copy of the second edition in a good- dust jacket. The dust jacket has edge wear and a little shelf wear on the front cover. 256 pages.
