Hardcover. Condition: Poor. 1867. 4 3/4 x 6 3/4. A record of personal observation and adventure. The title pretty much says it all, although there is quite a bit of poetry included. Embossed cloth hard cover, no dust jacket, 238 pages. Approx. Poor but whole. Cover soiled & frayed, pages very age spotted and stained, back hinge split.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, brown cloth boards with blind stamped decorations, gilt on spine. Exterior shows minor edge and corner bumps as well as light soiling and tanning to the edges and spine. No signatures or bookplates present, no library markings. Only handwriting found in book is on the front end page where there is very faint evidence of a price once penciled in the corner. Pages are toned due to age and foxing is present throughout, with the worst being the end pages and pastedowns. Text pages are secure with only minor pulling present. The hinges at the boards are good except for small crack at the top of each which measures less than an inch. This is an early printing where the publisher had forgotten to put in the copyright info, so each book had to have a label manually pasted in. Page 46 shows the error on line 3 of "two hundred and eighty". Erratum page and rear of book states this should read "two hundred and eight".
