Condition: Good. 1924. First Edition. 406 pages. No dust jacket. Signed by the author. Green cloth covered boards with gilt. Signed by the author with dedication to front free end paper. Pages have mild tanning and foxing throughout, moderate at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Cloth has minor damp and dust stains. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is darkened. Sunning to spine. Splits to head of spine.

Presentation Copy stamp to the title page, rubbing of the cloth down the rear hinge exposing the webbing to the top 45 mm, rubbing to the corners, very light foxing to the end papers, an essential classic extremely hard to find.
