Samtidigt brunmarmoreret helæderbind med rig rygforgyldning og med spejldekoration på permerne. Bindet noget slidt, men intakt. Gl.tilskrift på smudstitelbladet. * Hidtil ubemærket, med tak til historikeren Steffen Heiberg, biografi om Corfitz Ulfeldt, publiceret første gang i 1697, blot få årtier efter den yderst forhenværende danske rigshofmesters død i 1663 på flugt fra den nyslåede danske enevoldsmagts agenter. Biografien behandler også ganske udførligt "La comtesse, Leonora Christina. Interessant at møde det kontroversielle par i den gryende oplysningstids første store intellektuelle milepæl, der blev en slags forløber for Diderots store encyklopædi.

Det danska originalet, ?Høytrengende aeris forsuar?, författadas år 1651-52 i Stralsund och utkom i Hamburg 1652. Försvarskriften utkom även på holländska, tyska och latin. Efter att i juli 1651 lyckats bli frikänd från anklagelserna om att ha velat giftmörda Fredrik III, framförda av Dina Vihofers och Jørgen Walter vid jultid 1650, lämnade Corfitz Ulfeldt Danmark (tillsammans med sin familj och ca 1 miljon riksdaler) i rädsla för en undersökning av hans ämbetsutövning. Det är denna undersökning han här bemöter. Han valde dock att inte återvända utan slöt sig senare till Karl X Gustav, vilket blev inledningen till hans stora landsförräderi. Hardcover / Hardback.
